Employment Listings: Financial Aid Assistant

The Financial Aid Assistant will run the front desk by answering calls timely, process requisitions for payment, order supplies, assist students with questions concerning their financial aid status, evaluate financial needs of students from a variety of sources including documentation of financial status and personal interviews, collect documents for financial aid counselors, and facilitate problem solving concerns for students and parents to financial aid counselors.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-Associates/Bachelor's degree, preferred.

-Minimum of three years in a Financial Aid and/or educational environment.

-Experience with PowerFAIDS and/or Jenzabar preferred.

-Experience/working knowledge of federal financial aid programs and supporting regulations; working knowledge of Title IV program fund regulations, and U.S. Department of Education rules and regulations.

-Experience/functional knowledge of current tax forms, regulations and the implications of such regulations on financial aid.

-Ability to research regulatory information and resolve complex financial aid questions/concerns.

-Ability to prioritize and manage a significant caseload, and work independently.

-Competency to effectively communicate in oral and written form.

-Excellent reading, writing and math skills.

-A working knowledge of MS Office with intermediate abilities in Excel and Word.

-Must be able to multitask, be detail oriented and organized, a strong team player, and work with minimum supervision.
