The Class of 2022 got a head start with Texas College's Steer Transition Enrichment Program (STEP). The program, now in it's fifth year, serves as a transitional implementation to assist incoming freshmen with their acclimation to collegiate life. STEP lasts for five weeks during the summer; the students live on campus and earn 12 credit hours toward their degree. The STEP cohort also receives facilitated study sessions, tutoring, academic advising and academic success workshops. The program, with a structured schedule Monday through Friday, allows for students to gain firsthand knowledge and experience of campus life prior to entering the Fall Term to ensure a successful college career.
