CARES Act Emergency Funding Grant


The Cares Act included an Emergency Grant Aid Relief Fund for Institutions of Higher Education. The Emergency Grant Aid Relief Fund is to assist you with financial hardships that you may be experiencing due to the disruption of the College’s Operations stimulating from the COVID-19 Pandemic.  These funds are to assist you with categories (listed below) as it relates to College’s Cost of Attendance.

 Eligibility:

  • Applicants who were enrolled at Texas College on March 13, 2020 (for the Spring 2020 semester)  or students at Texas College for subsequent semesters 
  • Applicants must have been or are currently a full-time student
  • Applicants must have experienced an unforeseen expense due to coronavirus
  • Student must complete an Emergency Grant Aid Application (Please note that the completion of this application does not guarantee funding)
  • Applicants must have an exceptional financial need
  • Applicants must be exclusively enrolled in distance education courses

Cost of Attendance Categories

Emergency Grant Aid Relief will be considered to assist with financial hardships such as:

  • Child Care
  • Course Materials
  • Food
  • Healthcare (including Mental Health)
  • Housing
  • Technology
  • Tuition

Any other educational expenses that you may have incurred while attending school may also be considered. 

Review Process:

All applications will be reviewed by the Office of Student Financial Aid (financialaid@texascollege.edu ). Applications will be reviewed and awarded as quickly as possible with the goal of helping to ease the burden for our students. A Financial Aid Administrator/Counselor may reach out to you by email and/or phone to ask additional questions or request additional information.
