Texas College student-athletes from both the football and women's basketball team volunteered at the City of Tyler's annual Fall Family Fun Festival at the Glass Recreation Center on Thursday, October 26.
Dressed in their best Halloween costumes, Tyler children and their families trick-or-treated throughout the Glass Recreation Center, as well as played games, won prizes, enjoyed face painting, live music, food, costume contests, and other festive entertainment, as well as community resources. With the multitude of engaging fall festivities, the venue was packed, with parking extending well-beyond the Glass Center into the surrounding residential streets.
Texas College's student-athletes hosted a plethora attendees, as they facilitated a variety of games and handed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Although they wore their uniforms instead of costumes, the Steers did join in the festivities, partaking in face painting, balloon art, and more, when changing shifts.

Aside from engaging with the families in attendance, the student-athletes also were able to meet other volunteer "vendors," which consisted of local businesses and other services in East Texas.
By the time the Fall Family Fun Festival officially ended, the student-athletes had served an estimated minimum of 350 people, helping to make the event a memorable one for families throughout Tyler.
