PICTURED RIGHT: Dr. Chelsea Hylton, 2019 Texas College Alumna
Texas College Alumna Dr. Chelsea Hylton recently earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Xavier University of Louisiana. Dr. Hylton, a Dallas native, is a 2019 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Texas College, where she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her tenure as a student at Texas College, Dr. Hylton was a member of the Texas College Women’s Basketball Team, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and received the Texas College Legacy Award for academic excellence.
As a pharmacy student, she predictably continued to excel and demonstrate her intellectual prowess. Notably, she presented two poster presentations, one for the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation and the other for the Society of General Internal Medicine, and even published an article in the St. Louis Society of Health System Pharmacists Newsletter. During pharmacy school, she worked as a pharmacy intern at Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
Now that Dr. Hylton has completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, often referred to as PharmD, she has entered her pharmacy residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Mississippi, with clinical interests in oncology and emergency medicine.
