International Students


Texas College is authorized by the United States Department of Justice Immigration and Naturalization Service to admit non-immigrant international students for full-time study. An applicant for admissions from a foreign country must submit credentials to the Admissions Office at least four months in advance of the semester in which the applicant desires to gain admittance. Credentials of international students are evaluated according to the general regulations governing admissions to Texas College. International students must comply with all rules and regulations as established by the United States Immigration and Naturalization Services. The following are requirements to be met or items to be submitted by prospective international students before the Certification of Eligibility (1-20) Form is issued by Texas College: 

Prospective students from non-English speaking countries are required to furnish evidence of their ability to speak and write the English language correctly so that they may participate successfully in the courses in which they desire to enroll. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must submit their scores from the Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of 500 is required. Process

  1. Application

    Download a paper application for admission, print and mail to Texas College along with a non –refundable application fee of 20.00 in the form of a money order or cashier’s check (Tuition/Fees)

  2. Transcripts

    Official transcripts from all secondary schools attended. Transcripts must must show graduation or completion from secondary school. In addition to secondary school transcripts, any applicable college/university transcripts must also be submitted. Official translations must be submitted along with these records if the documents are in a language other than English. Students expecting to receive transfer credit must submit an equivalency evaluation performed by a transcript evaluation service.

  3. Tuition Payment Guarantee/Letter of Notarized Support

    An advance payment is required, which is equal to one year’s expenses (tuition, fees, room and board). In addition to the advance payment, a notarized letter of support is required.

  4. TOEFL Exam

    Students must demonstrative evidence of reasonable proficiency in the English language. If English is not taught or spoken as the official language, the student will be required to present test results from the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 500. 

  5. Completed Health Form

    Medical examination report must be performed by licensed physician

Special Note – regarding the following items that are not required for admission but needed to complete a student’s file. All students whether freshman, transfer or international – must submit the following:

  • Room Reservation form, along with (non-refundable) $300.00 room reservation fee in the form of a money order, made payable to Texas College.
  • A completed medical examination form
  • Copy of Immunization Records
  • Copy of Social Security Card
  • Copy of ACT/SAT scores (used for diagnostic purposes)
  • Copy of insurance card
